Get ready to fla-mingle! Put on your finest pink attire and head to the National Aviary for the return of Flamingo Fest. Make a fun flamingo craft, learn about all things flamingo from the experts at the Aviary, and meet the flock in our beautiful, expansive Wetlands habitat.

Flamingo Fest Schedule of Activities:

10:30 am: Fancy Flamingo Talk | Wetlands

11 am – 3 pm: Go on a Flamingo Friends Scavenger Hunt | Full Facility 

11 am – 3 pm: Flamingo Discovery Zone | Learning Center

  • Create Your Very Own Flamingo Name and Name Tag
  • Flamingo Finger Puppets
  • Flamingo Biofacts Guessing Game
  • Flamingo Conservation Activity: What’s in your Electronics? 
  • Read a Story in our Flamingo Book Nook
  • Kid-friendly Flamingo-inspired Yoga

11 am – 3 pm: Flamingo Height Chart | Hallway to Wetlands

11 am – 3 pm: Flamingo-themed Selfie Station | Learning Center

Noon: Meet a Colorful Bird Ambassador | Helen M. Schmidt FliteZone™ Theater

2:30 pm: Fabulous Flamingoes Expert Talk | Wetlands

Brushes & Birds: Flamingo Fest!

Add-on fun: Have the most fabulous Flamingo Fest ever and buy a ticket for a painting experience with Maria DeSimone Prascak of Maria’s Ideas (MariasIdeas.com) on Sun., February 23, when you’ll create a flamingo portrait to take home.
