On Fri., June 7, the Pittsburgh Glass Center will welcome the National Aviary’s own Christa Gaus, Senior Manager of Animal Programs, as a guest speaker to share her expert knowledge as their talented glass artists create a one-of-a-kind glass sculpture of a vulture in their Hot Shop. She will be taking questions and discussing particulars of scavenger birds that Grant Garmezy and Erin Garmezy will be creating.

Bring proof of your National Aviary Membership to Hot Jam: Avian Art at the Pittsburgh Glass Center to receive a Member exclusive benefit: every National Aviary Member will receive a 10% discount in the Glass Center’s Gift Shop and will be entered into a raffle for a one-of-a-kind piece of original parrot art!

This event is free and open to the public, but as Members of the National Aviary, you are receiving a special invitation to this evening of art and aviculture. Light refreshments and beverages are provided, and guests are encouraged to tour the Glass Center, coming and going throughout this three-hour event.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the rest of the festivities of Ublurred: First Fridays on Penn Avenue throughout the evening. Join us for this block party with a bird-centric twist!

Thank you to Hot Jam host:

Pittsburgh Glass Center is one of the top glass studios in the United States, a must-see destination right in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield-Garfield neighborhood. They host an Open House on the first Friday of each month, with live hot glass demonstrations and groundbreaking contemporary glass art exhibitions.
