From Intern to Global Educator: A Career in Our Avian Hospital.

Prepare for the ultimate sneak peek at our work behind-the-scenes. Members will welcome Jess Lindberg as she shares her journey from National Aviary Intern to Manager of Veterinary Education and Patient Care in our Avian Hospital. Working around the world to teach others the techniques and programs piloted right here in Pittsburgh, Jess is an ambassador for veterinary education on a global scale. Caring for a flock of more than 500 birds and animals is no small undertaking. As Jess will discuss while sharing special photos and videos, species as common as a dove and unique as the Guam Kingfisher receive care in our Avian Hospital, specialized for each bird’s needs and stage of life.

Members can learn all about this work and more from Jess during her 45-minute presentation and then enjoy their complimentary admission to stroll our habitats and visit our flock. This event is a great way to spend a day, whether with friends and family or flying solo. Meet fellow Members to connect with bird lovers like you, or listen and learn!
