Join us for this Members-only preview of our amazing SkyDeck, presented by the Pittsburgh International show! Have you ever wondered how this one-of-a-kind show is made? This year, as part of the SkyDeck Preview, we’re offering a special, Member-exclusive Expert Talk to go with it that will answer all your questions!
Hear from master falconer and the National Aviary’s own Director of Animal Programs and Experiences, Cathy Schlott, about what goes on behind the scenes to bring you this spectacular show. Learn about which birds are selected to participate in the show each year, why they are chosen from the more than 500 birds who live at the National Aviary, and how these superheroes of the sky are trained by our amazing animal care team. After the talk, you’ll be escorted up to the rooftop theater where you’ll be among the first to see this season’s SkyDeck! Witness powerful birds of prey in flight as they demonstrate their skills from our rooftop deck.
Registration is free but space is very limited for this event: tickets are on a first-come, first serve basis. Guests must be at least 6 years old to attend. Performances are also dependent on weather; we will contact you as soon as possible if we need to reschedule!
Registration includes both the Expert Talk and the Skydeck Preview.

Sat., May 25 marks the beginning of our summer season, with SkyDeck, presented by the Pittsburgh International Airport running daily at Noon and 3 pm, weather depending. Join us any day this summer to see this special show, only available at the National Aviary!
