Meet Apollo!
The National Aviary is deeply honored to share that our new Northern White-faced Owl, the face of Owl-O-Ween, has a very special name…
Give a warm welcome to…Apollo!
Apollo was named by Aviary friends, Matthew and Lydia Burg, through our Name-A-Bird program, in honor of their son Jacob. Jacob loved drawing birds, including an eagle character named Apollo, and visiting the National Aviary with his family. In his loving memory, Jacob’s parents chose to name our new bird, Apollo.
Apollo has a very calm personality and is a great Ambassador for his species, often featured in our educational programming!
